Philippines upsets Singapore for tchoukball crown

THE Philippine national men's tchouckball team stunned top favorite Singapore to win the crown of the 2nd Southeast Asia Tchouckball Championships in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, Saturday.
This marked the first time in the history of tchoukball in Asia that a younger team won against the dreaded Singapore athletes.
Singapore, the erstwhile defending champion and ranked No. 3 in the world, bowed to the Filipino strikers in a pulsating championship showdown.
Philippine Tchouckball Federation president Pastor Gary Visitacion commended the team for the victory,
"They were really determined to win. I am really proud of the boys. I know they were very tired already but they showed that Philippines is a team to watch in this tournament," Visitacion said.
